Nigerian rapper and actor, Folarin 'Falz' Falana had a lot to say during his performance at 2021 Felabration, about the Police commissioner's instructions regarding the upcoming gathering at Lekki tollgate, to mark the 'October 2020' incident, he said Nigerian youths will not be silenced by anyone. While this may seem brave and encouraging, it is equally wrong for him to challenge the authorities in that manner, because should there be another form of radicalism or rebellion, he may not be there to defend it or take responsibility. Falz said that, there will be gathering at the lekki tollgate and the authorities cannot do anything about it, neither can they stop them from gathering.
Realistically, there is a very strong possibility that a very good number of the celebrities that are encouraging people to come out, will not be there at that anniversary or gathering. Also, daring the authorities or the police to do their worst, could have a negative repercussion or backfire one way or the other.
The commissioner of police have warned against any form of gathering at the Lekki toll gate and has also warned against any planned protest. While many are planning to disobey the order, there is also need to understand that, there are so many ways to approach a situation, in order to avoid drastic measures.
