The rate of internet fraud is spreading rapidly, and more people fall victim to the crime. According to the statistics recorded as at September 2021, about 978 (Nine Hundred and Seventy-eight) people were convicted, out of which 80% were connected to cybercrime and cybercrime-related offenses.

A lot of youths believe internet fraud (yahoo) is the only way for them to escape poverty, which is why they indulge in the crime regardless of the consequences.

Presently, the EFCC officials are going to schools and communities advising the youths about the dangers of cybercrime and these could greatly impact in rehabilitating the mindset of our youths (young and old).

The society of today is filled with peer pressure. Most people do things not because they want to, but because of the peer pressure they encounter within the society.

Educating the youths to desist from cybercrime will restructure the mindset of the people.

There is definitely no shortcut to riches. Nobody ever got rich in a day even if the person wins a lottery, he/she must have tried for days or months.

Yahoo on the other hand is paving a bad way for the young ones modelling the youths of today.

Lavish lifestyle, and other ill-gotten lifestyle acquired from internet fraud should not be welcomed in the society. Peer pressure should also not be welcomed in the society.

The effects of cybercrime are much greater than the advantages, so it is better off to abstain from it.

The society should be able to assist EFCC on the ongoing campaign to enlighten youths of the effects of cybercrime.

Together, I believe we can create a healthier and safer community.
