One would wonder what is it with all the buildings collapsing recently. Is it that the engineers and builders are not doing good work or Is it from the location of the land where the building is taking place? Can we attribute the collapsing of building to heavy rainfall may be because the location did not undergo proper surveying in terms of soil, drainage pattern and other things.
According to a report on Daily Trust, a building still under construction collapsed at the Woji axis of Port Harcourt in Rivers State. The incident took place in the late hours of Wednesday leaving 1 person killed and 3 persons sustained serious injuries. One of the victims who sustained injuries said it was due to the heavy rain that fell on Tuesday that caused the building to collapse. He said the rain was severe and flood took over the building causing the foundation, pillars and entire structure to collapse.
