Convicted Genesis Prophet Returned to Church Checkout the Details

On Sunday,there was joy when Prophet Israel Ogundipe,the Senior Shepherd-in-Charge of the Celestial Church of Christ, Genesis Global, who was granted bail after his conviction, returned to the church.

All the church members were elated and rendered songs of thanksgiving when he came into the church compound.

The convicted pastor was seen spear heading praise and worship In a video that was relayed on Instagram by the church.

It is understood that earlier,the Court of Appeal in Lagos had issued the him a post-conviction bail

Newsmen gathered that a court panel assented to his bail on 1st April,2021 due to his health conditions.

Newsmen were informed that on 18th November,2020 Justice Olabisi Akinlade sentenced the accused prophet to 1 year imprisonment for stealing and turning the property of a London-based architect identified as Mrs. Oladele Williams-Oni into his personal use.

Then,the court found him liable to the charges made against him.

However, Ogundipe,through his counsel, Babatunde Ogala (SAN)went to the Appeal Court for bail pending the hearing of the appeal and an application to reverse the conviction.

The SAN contended that his client(Ogundipe) was a diabetic patient who could no longer have access to specialised diet and medications while in prison and that his health conditions had already deteriorated.

While delivering his ruling on the appeal,Justice Abudullhai Bayero disclosed that the convict was a first time offender with established serious health conditions such hypertension, peptic ulcer, unending malaria, and diabetes.

The prophet, based on the arguments, was theregore granted post-conviction bail.
