Corps Commander Jonathan Owoade, the Kwara State Sector Commander, stated that the accident, which happened at Lumoh village on Olooru-Shao Road, involved two cars, while reporting to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in the state capital.
Read his statement, "There was a fatal accident that involved two cars this evening, a commercial Volkswagen bus and a commercial DAF trailer. Out of 11 people that were involved, one person died while 10 others sustained injury. The injured victims were taken to Bertholem hospital, Kanbi, while the demise have registered at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital."
Furthermore, he stated that the rescue team is working to control traffic and obstruction at the scene after the incident.
Indeed the Traffic warders and Road safety are doing their work well, its left for the drivers to play their own part well. Always follow the rules guiding the road and abstain from alcohol.
