Opinion: Police should have removed nose masks from suspects arrested for kidnapping Bethel Students

According to a news that was published by various Newspapers, it has been alleged that three suspects, who were among the suspects that kidnapped over 100 students of Bethel School have been arrested and paraded at the headquarters of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad, in Abuja yesterday, as the names of the arrested suspects were given as Isiaku Lawal, Muazu Abubakar and Adamu Bello.

The confession the suspects gave was that, they carried out means to abduct the students because, they were seriously in need of money and that, they were 25 that carried out the operation, as others are yet to be arrested.

However, taking a look at the picture that was shared during the parade, one will see that the kidnappers were covered with nose masks during parade, probably to prevent them from spreading or contacting coronavirus but, this was criticized by some Nigerians.

In my opinion, the Nigerian Police should have removed their nose masks and distanced their chairs from each other so that, Nigerians and the rest of the world can know the people that are responsible for tarnishing the image of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration and so that the world can know the faces of the people that kidnapped Bethel Baptist School students.

One of the reasons why criminals are being paraded publicly by police operatives is so that, people can see their faces and so that, their offences can be made known but, the faces of Muazu, Isiaku and Adamu were covered with their nose covers.
