What Could Have Led A 14-Year-Old Boy To Be Involved In Banditry And Killing 2 Persons In Katsina?

The Katsina State Police Force has arrested and paraded a 14-year-old teenager over his involvement in banditry in the northern region of Nigeria.

According to the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, Isah Gambo, he noted that the teenager has confessed to being involved in banditry.

The minor also confessed to having killed two persons during one of his operations at Mallamawa in Jibia Local Government Area of the state.

The boy who claimed that he was trained as a bandit and kidnapper stated that he regretted his actions and wished to be reformed by the Government.

The question many Nigerians are asking is what could have made a 14-year-old boy be involved in banditry which has led to the killing of two persons.

What could have made the young boy get himself in banditry could be as a result of not having proper western education. It has been reported that many out-of-school children are roaming aimlessly In many northern states.

is inability to attend school could have led him to the hands of bandits and misled by them to take up arms and joined banditry.

The Government should do everything humanly possible to endure that all young children are being enrolled in schools to get proper education.Another reason that could have prompted the young boy to join banditry might be because of the environment he found himself in.

Peer groups and society have a way of influencing people, he could have taken up arms because he erroneously believes that he could make it through banditry because bandits and kidnappers are being paid ransom when they abduct people.
