The assassination of former AIG of police and SSA to the governor of Benue State is saddening

In the same way as Governor Samuel Ortom has frowned at the murder of his Senior Special Assistant on Security in person of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Christopher Dega, I ftown at the security twist and fear the incidence will create, it is indeed a huge blow to the administration of the governor and the entire state.

Dega was indeed very active police officer while in service and even in retirement he never gave up on fostering security to the people around him. To learn that he was gunned down in a gruesome manner is a thing of concern to the growing insecurity in the country.

The retired AIG served in Benue state and he was a true example of someone who has retired but is not tired.

The murder of this icon tells the height at which the insecurity in the North East, North West and North Central, South South, South East, South West has gone to.

For how long do we continue like this? This is indeed sad and tragic. May the family, friends and former colleagues of the deceased be consoled that Dega died a hero. May God grant him eternal rest.
