Desperate times require desperate measures and residents proved that to be true. We all know that a fire outbreak isn't a minor accident even though it could be caused by a minor thing. Judging from the video shared, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you that goods worth millions of naira got destroyed. The shops were burning uncontrollably and no firefighters were on sight when the video was recorded.

While those whose shops were razed count their losses, youths in Anambra made a smart move that shouldn't go unnoticed. They prevented the fire from spreading wide as they made provision of a fire extinguisher in the absence of firefighters.

While some fetched waters using their buckets, others collectively invited a water tanker to put off the fire. The action of these youths should be commended and whoever came up with the idea reduced the level of damages the fire outbreak would have caused.
