Rivers State Government has made mention that harmful chemicals are generated when bottled water and its sachet counterpart are exposed to sunlight.

Hon Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, the state Commissioner for Water Resources, delivered the warning during the launch of the Campaign Against Sunlight Exposure Of Bottled/Sachet Water.

The Commissioner spoke at the occasion and urged businesses against keeping their water and other plastic-packed products out in the sun or transporting plastic/sachet water in open vehicles that expose them to sunlight.
