Why The Bandits Behind The Destruction Of Abuja-Kaduna Rail Should Not Go Unpunished

Several news media houses across Nigeria have gathered reports concerning a destruction of properties belonging to the federal government of Nigeria. According to reports, the destroyed properties were a train which was bombed and some parts of the Abuja-Kaduna rail track. In this article, we shall be looking at reasons why the armed bandits behind the destruction of Abuja-Kaduna rail should not go unpunished.

1. The major reason why those behind the destruction of the Abuja-Kaduna rail should not go unpunished is because they have acted against the law. The law states that anyone caught destroying public properties (rail in this case) will be arrested and charged. For this reason, those behind the barbaric act should be brought to book.

2. The second reason why the bandits behind the destruction of Abuja-Kaduna rail should not go unpunished (if arrested) is because the punishment will, unarguably, serve as a warning to any other person with such a criminal intention. When those behind the destruction are brought before the law and charged as appropriate, any other person willing to carry out such a criminal activity, will definitely avoid doing so.Having given the reasons why these armed bandits, who inflicted technical damages on the country’s major rail infrastructure, should be punished, I will also be making some suggestions on measures that the federal government may adopt to avoid a reoccurrence.Photos' Credits: BBC News Pidgin.

The first suggestion is that the federal government should probably provide a new rail that'd mainly be for security agents who will, once a while, ply several rail routes in the country in order to forestall a reoccurrence of destruction on any rail.

The second suggestion on what the federal government may do to forestall a reoccurrence is that each train should have few security Officers in them when journeying. These security Officers will be the one to guard the passengers and also the train itself.
