Nemesis has caught up with three young men who belong to a cult group in Delta State as they were arrested and found with pump-action gun and bullets during a raid on their hideout by the operatives of the Delta State Police Command, the command announced on Tuesday, June 8.
The three men, whose names and ages were given as Lucky Nwose, aged 23 years; Somto Azubuike, aged 18 years and Omali Maxwell, aged 18 years, were said to be members of Supreme Vikings Confraternity popularly known as Aro Bagger in the area.
It was gathered that the men were arrested at a house they used as their hideout at Azungu Quarters, Ogwashi-Uku, where they always planned how to attack rival cult members and other innocent residents in the area.
According to a statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, on the Facebook wall of the command on Tuesday, following intelligence report, the commander of the Special Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) led his team and special tactical squad and stormed the said hideout.
During the raid of the hideout, the three young men were arrested while one English automatic pump-action gun loaded with live bullets were recovered from them.
The statement added that investigation about their activities are ongoing while they will be prosecuted as soon as the investigation is concluded.
According to the statement: "The Commander, Delta State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU), SP Christopher Igbaji, acting on intelligence which revealed that there is a house at Azungu Quarters, Ogwashi-Uku, where cultists usually converge, mobilised and led a combined team of SACU and special tactical squad and stormed the said hideout.
The team arrested three young men namely Lucky Nwose, aged 23 years; Somto Azubuike, aged 18 years and Omali Maxwell, aged 18 years, who confessed to be members of Supreme Vikings confraternity popularly known as Aro Bagger
"During the raid on the hideout, the team also recovered one English automatic pump-action gun loaded with live bullets.
"Investigation about their activities is ongoing after which they will be prosecuted."
