In a recent update by DAILY TRUST, the abducted students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State have reunited with their parents at the school premises.
There were lots of mixed reactions, as these parents were reunited to their children who were abducted on the 26th day of February, 2021.
Recall that on the 26th day of February 2021, unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits had invaded the school premises, abducting a total of 297 schoolgirls of the aforementioned secondary school. The bandits were said to have shot sporadically into the air before taking the schoolgirls into the forest.
However, with the intervention of the Federal and State Government, the schoolgirls were released unhurt by these bandits.
Screenshots from the video of the reunion of the abducted schoolgirls to their parents can be seen below.
What an emotional day it is. Parents could be seen in the video rejoicing. One of the schoolgirls was also spotted crying. She was shedding tears of joy. It was indeed a beautiful sight to behold as these schoolgirls were reunited back to their parents and loved ones.
