Seven people who were suspected and blamed for practising witchcraft in Dassin Bwate village in Fofure local government area of Adamawa have been killed.
The police spokesperson in the state named Sulaiman Nguroje confirmed the incident to the news agency of Nigeria on Wednesday. The spokesman stated that the incident took place on Tuesday and an investigation unit have been sent to the village.
The DSP stated, "seven people were killed in Dasin village over witchcraft allegations. "The police have begun an investigation in the village". He also made it known that when the team arrived at the village on Wednesday morning, there was no sign of any residents including the village head.
The corpse of the unidentified seven people was however found at one of the houses there. No arrest has been made so far and the DSP is pleasing with the neighbouring village to come forward with any information.
