NDA calls for establishment of dental clinics in Osun LGAs.

The Nigerian Dental Association, Osun State Chapter, has called on the state government to establish a dental clinic in the primary health care centre in each of the 30 Local Government Areas in the state.

The state chairperson of the association, Dr Oluyemi Ogundun, made the call during a courtesy visit on the Deputy Governor, Mr Benedict Alabi, at Government Secretariat, Abere, as part of activities marking this year’s World Oral Health Day.

Gunmen kill 2 Poly staff in Zamfara.

The Police in Zamfara State have confirmed the murder of two staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura-Namoda, by gunmen in the early hours of Wednesday.

SP Mohammed Shehu, Spokesperson of the Zamfara Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to journalists in Gusau on Wednesday.

According to him, the gunmen came to the house of one of the victims, Usama Nazifi, located in the low cost area of the town, asking him to open the door to his flat.

What Bandits Do To Those They Kidnap – Shehu Sani.

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has lamented the hardship that kidnap victims pass through in the hands of their abductors.

Sani in a Tweet on Wednesday said the bandits who kidnap people sexually and physically assault their victims on a daily basis.

He added that the victims enjoy no comfort for as long as they remain in their kidnapper’s den.

He thereafter said everything must be done to secure the release of the students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, who were kidnapped about two weeks ago from their hostel.

Senate urges IGP Adamu to investigate Ekiti election violence.

The Senate has called on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to order a full scale investigation into the election violence which occurred last week Saturday during the House of Assembly by-elections in Ekiti.

This was just as the upper chamber held a minute silence in honour of the victims.

The call on the Inspector General of Police was made Tuesday, and formed part of the resolutions reached by the Senate after it considered a motion sponsored by Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP, Ekiti South).
