Unhindered killings have continued in Nigeria and the latest is the death of Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd).
According to The Nation, Dega was shot many times in the chest in Jos when gunmen attacked him on Tuesday.
Before his retirement from the Nigerian Police, Dega was a two-time Commissioner of Police in Borno and Edo states.
This is not the first time an aide of Benue State governor Ortom will be killed by gunmen.
In August 2017, gunmen killed the Principal Special Assistant on Knowledge Economy and Investments to Benue State Governor, Dr Tavershima Adyorororough.

They broke into his residence and shot him severally before taking to their heels.
Dr Tavershima's wife was rushed to the hospital afterwards and was treated for injury and shock.
While killings are going on in many parts of Nigeria, top personalities are recently falling victims as they are now targets.
