Amotekun Seizes 180 Cows.

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested three herders and as well seized 180 cows for flouting the Anti-open Grazing Law of the State.

The cows and the herders were arrested on Tuesday, at the Oke-Ala axis of Akure, the state capital after the herdsmen were sighted within the area with the cows.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had assented to the Anti-open Grazing bill into law in the state.

Rivers Govt Drags FG To Supreme Court Over VAT.

Rivers State governemnt, through its Attorney-General, has gone to the Supreme Court to set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal that ordered it to maintain status quo on the collection of Value Added Tax, VAT.

The State, in its nine grounds of appeal, is praying the apex court to order that the substantive appeal by the FIRS, marked CA/PH/282/2021, and all other processes therein, be heard and determined by a new panel of the Court of Appeal.

Ugwuanyi Signs Anti Open Grazing Bill Into Law.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has signed the anti-open grazing bill into law, at the Government House, Enugu.

The bill which is for a law to prohibit open grazing, regulate cattle ranching, and for connected purposes was recently passed by the Enugu State House of Assembly.

UNIPORT Bans "Pleasure Swimming" As Undergraduate Dies In Pool.

The University of Port Harcourt has announced a ban on “pleasure swimming” at the Olympic size swimming pool in the institution.

Spokesman of the institution, Sam Kpenu, who made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, said the facility will only be opened to professionals. This followed the death of a student of the Rivers State University in a swimming pool.
