How six kidnappers were arrested in Imo

In a article that was posted by The Nigerian Tribune Newspaper yesterday evening, it has been alleged that operatives of the Imo State Police Command have successfully apprehended some suspected kidnappers and also rescued two victims from their hideout.

Information that was disclosed concerning the incident revealed it that security operatives went after the assailants, after a report was made that, Okechukwu Mbata and Kelechi Anoruo were kidnapped by kidnappers on the 3rd of June, 2021 and after the duo spent three months with the kidnappers in their den, policemen were able to apprehend one of them, whose name was given as Nwanosike Chukwuka, as the arrested suspect, exposed the remaining five other members of the gang during interrogation.

In Nigeria as at today, whenever a person or a group of persons are kidnapped and police operatives are yet to arrest the assailants, people will point to herdsmen and accuse them of carrying out the abduction, especially if it happens in the southern region of the country.

However, taking a look at this particular case, one will see that it is not only herdsmen that do kidnap people, as people from other tribes who have criminal minds as well do abduct people. Kidnapping is not a regional or occupational characteristic but, the matter of one's mindset, as anybody from any region or occupation can decide to go into it and as thus, if there is kidnapping and the perpetrators haven't been arrested, people should desist from blaming a particular group for it because, it could be carried out by anybody or group.
