Tension As Gunmen Attack Again In Ebonyi

NO fewer than ten people, including police officers, were killed yesterday when gunmen attacked the communities of Isu and Onicha-Igboeze in Ebonyi State's Onicha Local Government Area.

Two police officers were reportedly killed in Isu, while others were killed in Onicha Igboeze.

According to Vanguard, the gunmen also killed two lawyers during the attack.

According to sources, the two affected lawyers were driving in a vehicle when they came across the gunmen, who were operating on a Lexus Jeep.

The Invaders were said to have killed the Lawyers, burnt the Jeep they operated in and fled the scene with their victim’s vehicle.

Army confirms arrest of veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that its troops on patrol as part of "Exercise Golden Dawn" apprehended veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu.

The actor was arrested for soliciting support for the proscribed separatist group, IPOB, according to Army spokesperson Onyema Nwachukwu, a brigadier general, who stated this in a statement on Thursday.

No plan to bring back SARS – Police

The Nigerian Police Force has said it has no plan to reintroduce the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

In a statement issued Thursday in Abuja, the police spokesperson, Frank Mba, confirmed this.

The announcement comes amid of rumors and speculation, particularly on social media, that the police had reintroduced the defunct squad.

APC clears all chairmanship, councillorship positions

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared Wednesday’s Nasarawa State local government council poll.

Mr Ayuba Wandai, Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, revealed this when he announced the results in Lafia on Thursday.

Wandai stated that the APC candidates for chairmanship and councillorship won in all 13 of the State's Local Government Areas (LGAs).
