According to reports, the Honourable Member representing the Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt Hon Dumnamene Robinson Dekor, today being Saturday 1st of May 2021, led members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State to the funeral service of Late Mrs Alice Duka Deeyah, in Khana LGA of Ogoni ethnicity of the State.
The late Mrs Alice Duka Deeyah, is the mother of Hon Bariene Deeyah, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The late mom died earlier this year after a brief illness, although she was aged 92 years. She was laid to rest in her residential home in Zaakpon Community of Khana Local Government Area, which is close to Bori City.
The Honorable member of the National Assembly, Hon Dum Dekor, in his speech urged the bereaved family to be strong in this trying times, he further encouraged them to live the kind of life their late mother lived, stating that the deceased had lived an exemplary life while she was alive which is why there are people from far and near to bid her farewell.
He further added that she lived a live worthy of emulation, he encourage other sympathizers to emulate her lifestyle. Also the newly elected Chairman of the Khana LGA, Hon. (Dr.) Thomas Bariene, was present at the burial occasion. In his speech he urged the Deputy Majority Leader who is the Chief mourner to stand as the beacon of hope to the rest of the family members.
Other highly respected dignitaries and stakeholders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the State and outside, were present at the occasion to pay their last respect to the late mother.
