Unknown Gunmen Attack Ebonyi Police Station, Free Suspects

Unknown Gunmen have attacked a Divisional Police Station in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The incident was said to happen in the early hours of today Monday 18th October, 2021 when the hoodlums stormed the Station and fired sparodically in the air to cause fear. They entered the cell and freed suspects, then proceeded to set ablaze vehicles packed in the premises including Patrol Vans.

The Ebonyi State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident. Meanwhile some Officers were said to have escaped with bullet wounds.

The South East Region has been under serious attack by hoodlums suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it's Armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) who are agitating for self reliance.

The group have resorted to attacking and killing Security Agents and the destruction of Government facilities including Correctional Center and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Offices.

The recent attacks becomes more worrisome as the Anambra State Gubernatorial Election will be taking place in few weeks.
