About 13 inmates who were reported to have escaped from Abolongo Correctional Centre in Oyo town, after the facility was attacked on Friday have been recaptured in Ife Odan, a town in Ejigbo local government area of Osun state. This was made known by security agent who pleaded anonymous. He said that the inmates were wandering in the town on Saturday, when policemen on patrol arrested them.
Also assuring us that the security along Oyo/Osun border communities, especially in Ejigbo axis had be tightened.
Ademola, a resident of Ejigbo said that the people of the town, and other surrounding communities are all on alert to report any suspicious movement, as security agents continue search for inmates that fled Oyo Correctional Centre that may be hiding in the area.
Amitolu Shittu, the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, during an interview held by the punch. He said police men have been deployed to some villages at the boundary of the two states. And the people have been helpful because we have made them realised the need for them not to harbor any suspects.
