On Sunday April 11, the residents of Saba area opposite Benue State University, were thrown to tears after a mighty storm that resulted to fire outbreak destroyed houses and properties worth thousands of Naira.
Speaking with one of the victims of the incident identified as Micheal Atinga, who descried the incident as 'terrible' noted that his documents, cooking gas, laptops, and other electronics were destroyed after the fire engulfed his house as a result of the wind that blew.𝑀𝑖𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑒𝑙 𝐴𝑡𝑖𝑔𝑎 (𝑃𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝐶𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑠: 𝐸𝑘𝑒𝑙𝑒 𝑆𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑦, 2021)
Michael who is a 500 level student of Benue State University, studying Urban And Regional Planning, spoke in an interview with Ekele Sunday, an Opera News Creator who visited the scene of the accident, stating that the thatched house that he recently paid for was burnt down by the fire.
" The heavy wind which started about 5.pm on Sunday caused a terrible fire outbreak that burnt down the house I just finished paying for. My gas cooker, documents, laptop, and some of my electronics were burnt" he said.

The area populary called Saba close to Benue State Univeristy, houses students of the institution. About eight houses belonging to students were burnt down.
