Bandits' leader and his men have been on rampage, sacking Communities, abducting villagers and travelers in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the State.
Sahara Reporters reports that the bandits' leader by name Turji, with his men, have intensified their operations since Friday following the arrest of Turji's father.
According to the report, within a space of 24 hours, not less than 150 people have been abducted by the bandits in Kurya, Keta, Kware, Badarawa, Marisuwa, Maberaya and other villages in the said two local governments.
Turji's father was arrested two weeks ago in Kano by security agents with no information regarding his whereabouts, a source told Sahara Reporters.
Turji has vowed to ensure that many people do not spend the sallah period with their families if his father is not allowed to celebrate it at home, the report added.
When contacted via a telephone, the bandits' leader argued that he is a terrorist, not his father, and so his father's arrest lacks basis. He added that his location is known.
According to Sahara Reporters, this is happening barely a few months after Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi met with the Turji.
What is your opinion on Turji's position?
