Unknown Gunmen Shoot Man Dead in Front of His Wife and Children in Imo State

Unknown gunmen, in the early hours of Saturday, reportedly stormed a funeral procession, shooting sporadically and killed one person in Atta, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.

It was gathered that the attackers shot the victim in the presence of his wife and children. And, in a separate incident, an official of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was abducted to an unknown destination.

According to Daily Trust, the abducted victim was identified as Engr Kingsley Okorafor. The tragic incident occured in the early hours of Friday at his residence in Umulogho, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.

Ever since the emergence of pro–Biafra separatist group, the southeast have witnessed series of violent attacks against security operatives and innocent traders.

The hoodlums, locally referred to as the Unknown Gunmen, have enforced compulsory sit-at-home order on Mondays in solidarity with embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). They physically assault and extort residents who defy the rule in southeast.
