A man who attempted to cross an expressway in Delta State has died after the driver of a vehicle knocked him down in the process, the state police command announced on Thursday.
The command disclosed that the man, whose name and address are unknown, was knocked down by the driver of a Mercedes Benz along the Benin-Asaba Expressway by NNPC filling station while he was crossing the highway.

Unfortunately, he died before help could come to him while the policemen who were called to the scene, evacuated his corpse and deposited it at a hospital mortuary in Asaba, the state capital.
A statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, and posted on the Twitter handle of the command on Thursday, requested those who know him to contact either the hospital mortuary or the state police command headquarters.
