The Monsters Are Still With Us - Sani Reacts As Bandits Attacked Travelers Along Abuja-Kaduna Road.

It was reported that some gunmen suspected to be bandits had blocked the Abuja-Kaduna road on Sunday, kidnapping travelers.

While speaking with the press, one of the travelers who had managed to escape the attack revealed that the armed bandits blocked the road at Katari village at about 2pm, and operated for over an hour.

One of the few people who reacted to this information was Shehu Sani, who is a Nigerian senator, an author, playwright, and a human rights activist.

While sharing on his official Twitter handle, the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, Shehu Sani condemned the attack on the travelers, adding that despite all the claims of securing the road, the monsters are still with us. He also said despite the shut down of telecommunication service in some local government area of Kaduna State, the issue of kidnapping is still going on in the state. It could be recalled that the Kaduna State government shut-down telecommunication service in some local government area of the state with the aim of reducing the issue of banditry in the state.

However, Shehu Sani has stated that the suspension of telecommunication service in the state has not stopped the issue of insecurity in the state.

This is sad, and if you ask me, I would say that declaring bandits terrorists will really go a long way in tackling the issue of insecurity in the country. The federal government should ensure that the lives and properties of the citizens are well protected, their safety should be their number one priority, and I hope that those behind this act are brought to justice.

However, the particular statement made by Shehu Sani has attracted a lot of attention as many Nigerians took to the comment box to share. The majority is of the view that the federal government should declare bandits terrorists before they cause more damage to the people.

What is your view on this?.
