Some yet to be identified gunmen have reportedly killed 3 policemen at their checkpoint in Delta state.
The incident occurred at about 7:40 am on Wednesday, along Obeti/Oliogo Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta.
The fallen police officers had mounted a roadblock/checkpoint for their usual stop and search duties before they were invaded by the hoodlums.

It was reported that the assailants also burnt the patrol vehicle belonging to the police division which was mounted by the same policemen on duty.
The deceased officers were said to be attached to Umutu police divisional headquarters in Ukwuani LGA of Delta state.

Meanwhile, The Delta state Police Command Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident but refused to give further details regarding the attack.
The incident occurred barely 4 months after the Umutu divisional police headquarters was attacked, which also claimed the lives of two police officers while several others were injured.
