FG Extends NIN-SIM Linkage Till June 30

The linking of the National Identification Number (NIN) to SIM has been challenging due to the limited registration centres in the country.

FG Extends NIN-SIM Linkage Till June 30 However, the extension of the “NIN-SIM data verification” deadline has been approved by the federal government. 

According to Daily Trust, the approval for extension was made through an online meeting headed by Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof Adeolu Akande and other heads of agencies.

The shift of the previous deadline was requested by the “communication stakeholders” that the citizen and residents register.

Following the approval, more centres have been opened by the network providers and other “enrollment agents” for people to register and link their NINs.

The recent killings and abductions of people in the country has raised concerns, which has led to statements by highly place Nigerians.

While some statements are seen as a constructive criticism, others are inciting, which can lead to disunity in the nation.

The Department of State Service lays emphasis on the speeches made by “some religious and past leaders,” which is allegedly inciting.

However, the DSS has issued a statement of warning to those involved in making rebellious comments to disrupt the peace in the land.
