A member of the House of Representatives representing Ngaski/Shanga/Yauri Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, Hon. Yusuf Sununu told journalists that bandits warned Birnin Yauri community that they would back few days before they invaded Federal Government College and abducted several female students, the vice principal and teachers. The lawmaker recalled that a week ago, bandits numbering up to 300 and armed with AK 47s invaded the community and operated for 8 hours straight.
He said that bandits were going from house to house and collecting money, handsets, motorcycles and cattle from residents. After operating for 8 hours, the bandits left a message that they would be back very soon.
The lawmaker stated that some residents left the community immediately and they haven't returned back since then. A week after the attack, the bandits invaded the community again and targeted Federal Government College.
This is coming after a teacher in the school alleged that they received information on a plan to attack the school and community (Sahara Reporters).
Recall that bandits attacked Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri community, shot two students and abducted teachers and students barely 24 hours ago.
