The wage terrifying attacks on rural communities in Northern Nigeria by the rampaging gunmen known locally as bandits armed with assaulting rifles and rocket-propelled grenades daring young men in their jaunty jalopies, raping, pillaging, and murdering almost daily. People are killed and displaced as armed bandits become more daring and brazen in their attacks. Thousands have been killed and properties worth of million nairas have been destroyed under the rampaging jackboot of these criminal gangs.
According to a report on Daily Trust, some residents are complaining about the increasing number of Bandits in Kastina. They revealed that Bandits that are fleeing from Zamfara State are coming into their state. They are raising alarm for the state and security agencies to come to their rescue before the situation gets worse.
Some of the residents revealed to Daily Trust reporter that bandits have mounted a roadblock where they conduct stop and search on commuters plying the Kankara-Zango road in Kastina. They revealed that hunger is dealing with the bandits. Food and fuel are their major priority now. At the places where they mount the roadblock, they collect fuel and foodstuffs from commuters passing by. I thought Gov. Masari shut down some roads in Kastina and economic activities halted. How did the bandits manage to enter Kastina? Our security agencies still have a lot of work to do in defeating bandits.
