It's no longer news that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been doing a whole lot of work to make this county crime-free. They have made it their point of duty to update Nigerians with pictures of people who have committed one crime or the other.
Just a moment ago, EFCC took to their verified Twitter page and shared pictures of a man who bagged 70 years jail sentence that sparked reactions. The man identified as Hamzat Muhammad Bashar was convicted and sentenced to Seventy years imprisonment without an option of no fine for obtaining Twenty Nine Million Eight Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Naira (N29,865,000.00) by false pretence.
The ugly event happened on the 1st of April 2020, and so far, people have been reacting to it. Those who commented are yet to believe that Hamzat Muhammad Bashar was sentenced to 70-year imprisonment.
They urged EFCC to channel the same energy on Nigerian politicians who embezzle and loot Nigeria funds daily. Some persons stated that they would be happy if corrupt politicians get the same jail sentence in this country.
It might interest you to know that Hamzat Muhammad Bashar got arrested after he obtained the sum of N23,760,000 (Twenty Three Million Seven Hundred and Sixty Naira) from Hadiza Aliyu and other victims. He falsely presented himself as the owner of a genuine business investment of Gold and Herbs.
