A 17-year-old girl, Aisha Kabiru, has been arrested for the murder of her 28-year-old neighbour, Bahijja Abubakar, who she stabbed to death, with a kitchen knife. The incident happened in Kumbotso Local Government Area, Kano state.

According to the statement released on Saturday, August 21, by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect stabbed the victim in the back of her neck. He said when the police got to the scene, they rushed the victim to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, for treatment, but unfortunately, she died there.
Kiyawa said the suspect after committing the crime, fled to unknown location. She was however arrested, in her hideout, at Zawaciki Quarters, in the same local government. She was apprehended, three days after she committed the crime.
During interrogation, the suspect said she had an argument with the deceased, and as a result both of them started fighting. She said they later settled, but she later took a knife and stabbed the victim.
