According to a news that was posted by the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper this afternoon, it has been alleged that the residents residing in the Isaba - Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area of the state today protested the killing of two farmers on their farmland by suspected herdsmen who they overpowered on Thursday, a day before they were murdered.
The names of the two farmers who died were given as Toyin Akeju, popularly referred to as Jisoro in the community while the name of the second person that was killed was given as Daodu, a labourer who was working with Toyin before their untimely death.
According to the information that was gotten, it was made known that the two farmers left their house yesterday morning for their farming work and they didn't return back home till night, and due to this, their family members started looking for them and reported to men of the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly referred to as Amotekun. When Amotekun cops started their investigation, they went to their farmland this morning and discovered their hidden dead bodies with bullets wound on them before their corpses were taken away.
It was made known that on Thursday, some herdsmen had altercation with the duo, brought out their cutlasses and wanted to use it on them but, they (deceased) overpowered them and collected the cutlasses from them, as the herdsmen left in anger and returned yesterday with gun and killed the both of them.
Due to this, members of that community, comprising of adults and youths blocked main road, and burnt tyres, as they didn't allow vehicular movement in that community.
