
Gunmen abducted 4 people in Ikosu-Ekiti, Moba local government of Ekiti state. This happened on Monday, 5 July 2021 at about 5 pm while these people were working on their farm.
The abductors have contacted the relatives of the abducted workers demanding for 50 million. According to a relative who spoke With the PUNCH, He said the ransom is still been negotiated, and prays that the victims return home safely.
Three of the victims include Bolarinwa, Yinka, and Jimoh.
According to the State Police public relation officer Sunday Abutu, he said the state commissioner of police Tunde Mobayo has ordered that police officer be deployed to Ikosu-Ekiti and the boundary surrounding it for the case to be thoroughly combed.
While speaking he said, "With the level of security measures we have put in place, we are sure that we will rescue them and probably get the perpetrators of this dastardly act"
He added that "Our men are in the bush working hard to rescue the farmers. We are working in conjunction with the Amotekun corps and local hunters"
