Alhaji Mohammed Adembe, the Adogu of Eganyi in Ajaokuta Local Government Area, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday evening along the Okene-Agogo route in Kogi State. According to a witness, the first-class traditional ruler was alone in his automobile on his way to the Eganyi village from Okene at 4 p.m., the Kogi Monarch was kidnapped by the gunmen between Ebiya and Eganyi.

According to the report, the kidnappers contacted the relatives at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and demanded that the relatives provide a ransom of N30 million. Mr. William Ayah, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, confirmed the kidnap occurrence. He emphasized that a special unit had been dispatched by the police headquarters to track out the kidnappers. The Police Public Relation Officer requested the people to provide vital information to the authorities so that security agents might rescue the royal father from his kidnappers.
