The insecurity caused by bandits have caused many people to lose their lives and properties in the country. Many innocent school children and good citizens of the country have been kidnapped by bandits for ransom. Kidnapping and killing of farmers have also contributed to food insecurity in the country because many farmers are scared to go to farm because of bandits.
The daily killings of people loved ones by bandits have been a source of concern in the country.
According to Daily Post, Burra community in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State has alleged that over N72 million was paid as ransom to bandits to secure release of many of their kidnapped kinsmen.
It was reported that the council boss alleged that once anyone gets kidnapped in the affected communities, they used to take ransom to Zamfara State.
Despite some people who have given money to bandits for ransom we have seen in many times when bandits return back to their operations of kidnapping people.

The northerners should stop paying ransom to bandits because it will encourage them to do more harms to their people. They should emulate what President Buhari did when he said he is not going to be blackmailed by bandits by paying ransom to them.
Every northern state governors should train more hunters and vigilantes to assist security agencies to fight against banditry in their states so that they can protect the lives and properties of our innocent people living in rural communities where activities of bandits are mostly carried out.
Federal government can also look into the idea brought by Sheikh Gumi that government should use fulani herdsmen for policing in rural communities to assist security agencies to stop bandits from attacking people.

Bandits should also be label as terrorist who doesn't want development in the country and the military armed forces should start attacking them as agents of terrorism.
