Abidemi Oluwaseun, 35, was arrested today by men from the Ogun State Police Command for raiding a public school with thugs to attack a teacher whom he suspected of abusing his 15-year-old daughter.
Following a distress call received from the principal of Baptist Girls College Idiaba Abeokuta, three men invaded the school with an unregistered vehicle, armed with a brand new cutlass and threatening to hack down a teacher with the cutlass, the suspect was arrested with two others, Fayesele Olabanji m' 25yrs and Alebiosu Quawiyu m' 24yrs.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police command's spokesperson, confirmed the event, saying that after receiving the distress call, the DPO Kemta division, CSP Opebiyi Sunday, mobilized his men and proceeded to the location, where the three males were captured immediately inside the school grounds.
They were found with an unregistered Toyota automobile and a cutlass. During questioning, Abidemi Oluwaseun admitted to hiring the other two guys to work for the school in order to teach the instructor who had beaten his daughter a life lesson.
A preliminary inquiry found that some pupils, including the suspect's daughter, were insulting the teacher and disrupting other students while the teacher was teaching. After identifying individuals who were disrupting the class, the instructor cained them as a preventative step, but the suspect's daughter went home and informed her father, who then recruited two thugs and invaded the school with cutlasses.
CP Lanre Bankole, the state's commissioner of police, has ordered that the suspects be thoroughly probed and charged in court as soon as feasible. He further cautioned that under his direction, such disruptive behavior would not be tolerated in any public or private institution, since it amounted to taking the law into one's own hands.
