Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong reiterated yesterday that private and commercial motorcycles are banned from being used within Uyo.
He however said that only registered dispatch riders are allowed to operate.
“The State Government is by this notice reminding all motorcyclists, that the Security agencies have been briefed to strictly enforce the ban on the use of motorcycles within Uyo metropolis,” he added in a statement on Monday.

It can be recalled that the state government in its determination to strengthen security and ensure the safety of lives and property of all residents had banned the use of private and commercial motorcycles in Uyo.
The government appealed to residents to desist from patronising commercial motorcyclists as violators will be prosecuted.
