Soldiers Kill 5 Youths Returning From A Wedding In Taraba After 'Mistaking Them For Kidnappers

Soldiers have supposedly murdered five youth at Bassa town in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State. 

As indicated by Daily Trust, the young fellows were getting back from a wedding service in Garin-Baka around 12 PM on Thursday, April 1, when warriors on the lookout mistook them for kiddnapers and supposedly started shooting at them. 

Isah Umar, a student of Taraba State University, who figured out how to get away, told the publication that he and his companions were riding on bikes back to their town, Basa, when they ran into the soldiers 

Umar said that on locating the caravan of their bikes, the warriors started shooting at them. He got away into the forest however his companion Habu Yerima who passed on him on his cruiser was not fortunate as he was purportedly hit by a bullet and kicked the bucket in a immediately

The five casualties whose bodies were deposited at the Federal Medical Center, Jalingo, mortuary are Abdulkadir Bello, Tukur Bello, Philip Yakubu, Habu Yarima and Ya'u Misa. 

Two of the casualties were students of Taraba State University and Taraba State College of Agriculture, Jalingo. 

Addressing journalists at the funeral home, the lamenting parents of the casualties demanded that the officers executed their kids deliberately. 

Bello Aliyu Jen, a dad whose two children were executed, requested prompt investigation. 

"We need equity, the military should be held responsible to the murder of our blameless youngsters," he said.
