Man tells Adejobi how policeman demanded for money when he lodged report of stolen generator

A man on Sunday wrote the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, giving details of how a policeman from the Lagos State Police Command demanded for money when he went to report a case of stolen generator at the police station.

The man, whose Twitter handle is @_big_Ted, disclosed in his tweets that some thieves came to his residence at an area in Ayobo and stole his generator around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. After the incident, he went to lodge a complaint at a nearby police station.

He added that he was however surprised when, on getting to the station, one of the policemen there demanded for money before a complaint could be made at the station.

He therefore said he had to leave the police station, which he did not name, in anger. He however displayed the photograph of the policeman who demanded for the money and the videos of the situation on his Twitter handle.

He therefore urged Adejobi to look into the matter as he said he could not believe that such a thing could happen at a police station.

Below are screenshots of his tweets on the issue:

Responding to the tweets, Adejobi said what the man alleged was not allowed in the police, asking him to furnish him more details about the incident.
