We all know the duty of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which is to investigate financial crimes such as advance fee fraud (419 fraud) and money laundering; and as expected, they have done their job after apprehending popular Instagram comedian.
It has just been confirmed today that popular Instagram comedian, Pankeeroy has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the Commission - EFCC alongside 34 others for alleged internet fraud.
They were actually arrested on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at their hideout in James Court, Lekki, Lagos following verified intelligence received by the Commission over alleged criminal activities.
According to recent reports, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, AKA Pankeeroy went into Bitcoin scam after he suffered depression, and has been presenting himself as a vendor who redeems bitcoin vouchers using the 'bitcoincoretrading.com platform' to defraud his unsuspecting victims.
It was also confirmed that a Mercedes Benz AMG GLE worth over thirty six million naira was recovered from him. He also had N22,300,000 worth of Bitcoin in his block chain account. Asides that, other items were recovered from him which includes: exotic cars, Iphones, laptop computers, Android devices and Macbook devices.
For authentication sake, I had to check EFCC's Twitter page to confirm, and it seems to be true, although they said details later.
