Motorist writes Sanwo-Olu, narrates how LASTMA officials extorted N19,000 from him

A motorist on Tuesday wrote the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, narrating how officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) allegedly extorted the sum of N19,000 from him over what he described as a "non-existent offence."

He therefore said he wants the governor to intervene in the matter in order for him to have his money back, as he insisted he was ready to provide evidence of the payment.

The man, whose name is Adeniran Ademola with the Twitter handle @adex405, disclosed in his tweet that officials of the agency in the Isolo Local Government Area of the state stopped his car on a road and eventually extorted him of N19,000.

He said he paid N9,000 cash and made transfer of N10,000 to the officials after they arrested him for what he called a non-existent offence.

He therefore said the matter needs to be investigated as he insisted he wants his money back while saying he was ready to provide details of the transfer he made.
