How 21 Yahoo Boys were picked up from their hideouts in two cities during early morning raids

Twenty one internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo Boys have been arrested in early morning raid at their hideouts in two cities by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a tip-off, the commission announced on Monday, March 29.

While 18 of the internet fraudsters were arrested in two areas of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, three others were arrested in Minna, the Niger State capital, by operatives of the anti graft commission.

The names of those arrested in the two areas in Abuja were given as Akpotegho Profit, Aseimo Prince, Ekhaguere Favour, Ekhaguere Esewi, Kelvin Ekhaguere, Temola Adex, Ezuzu Happiness and Ekhiyokwo Emmanuel.

Others are Mena Ejife Emmanuel, Clement Ifietekhai, Babatunde Ilori, Ejoor Joseph, Okunuwe Frank Durkio, Agbaga Kelvin, Ajayi Kehinde David, Akinwale Taiwo, Joseph Henry Junior and Agbaje Opeyemi.

The names of the three Yahoo Boys arrested in Minna were given as Abubakar Haruna, Nuhu Alfa Katuna and Mohammed Adamu.

According to a statement issued by the EFCC on its Twitter handle @officialEFCC on Monday, during the arrest of the 18 internet fraudsters in Abuja, items recovered from them included six exotic cars, 26 mobile phones, 11 laptop computers, flash and hardrive, three international passports and six handbags.

Items recovered from the internet fraudsters in Minna at the point of arrest were mobile phones and various SIM cards.

According to the statement: "The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 18 internet fraudsters at a hideout in Gwarimpa and Dawaki Extension, Abuja during an early morning raid. 

"The arrest was sequel to credible intelligence obtained by the commission on their alleged criminal activities.

"The names of those arrested in the two areas in Abuja were given as Akpotegho Profit, Aseimo Prince, Ekhaguere Favour, Ekhaguere Esewi, Kelvin Ekhaguere, Temola Adex, Ezuzu Happiness and Ekhiyokwo Emmanuel.

"Others are Mena Ejife Emmanuel, Clement Ifietekhai, Babatunde Ilori, Ejoor Joseph, Okunuwe Frank Durkio, Agbaga Kelvin, Ajayi Kehinde David, Akinwale Taiwo, Joseph Henry Junior and Agbaje Opeyemi.

"Items recovered from them included six exotic cars, 26 mobile phones, 11 laptop computers, flash and hardrive, three international passports, and six handbags.

"In a related development, three internet fraudsters have been arrested by operatives of the commission in Minna, Niger State. The suspects are Abubakar Haruna, Nuhu Alfa Katuna and Mohammed Adamu.

"Items recovered from them include mobile phones and SIM cards.

"The young men will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded."
