Axes, cutlasses and knives were recovered from suspected cult members by NSCDC in Ilorin.

Six suspected Cult members were arrested today by the Operation Harmony and Anti-vandal squad of the Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ilorin, the state capital.

The suspects were found with dangerous materials like axes, cutlasses and knives by the security agency. 

Babawale Afolabi, spokesperson of the command said that "intelligent report from our Ilorin South division that two factions of cult groups "Abata" and "Aye" will strike at Dada area of Okelele of the metropolis. It was a brutal battle but only six of them were arrested". 

Afolabi gave the names of the suspects as; Abdullahi Azeez 'm' 20years, Raheem Jamiu 'm' 18years, Saheed Samad 'm' 18years, Sanni Samsudeen 'm' 16years, Sulaimon Folawiyo 'm' 18years and Jamiu Isa 'm' 19years.

"Misunderstanding started during the Ramadan fasting, when two of the Aye boys were badly injured. The Abata group decided to strike back today, they met very close to the river in that area". The spokesperson of the corps said.

The corps is making arrangements for the case to be transferred to the Nigerian Police Force, he added.
