Nevertheless, indigenes of Izombe in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State said on Tuesday that the properties allegedly destroyed by soldiers in their community on Friday were not less than 1 billion naira.

The distraught indigenes, who spoke to "Punch Newspapers" during a visit to the community, said the soldiers who were on a reprisal, burnt no fewer than 80 houses, many cars and economic trees.
Two soldiers and a resident were said to have been killed in the raid.
However, will Uzodinma compensate victims of the ugly incident that occurred in Izombe which led to the destruction of properties?
According to a post from Uzodinma's verified Facebook page, the Governor said that he will constitute a bilateral committee that would comprise of Government Officials and the leadership of the community to fashion out modalities to commence a project named "rebuild Izombe". Uzodinma said he will offer compensation to the affected homes of the recent military raid.
Two Things Nigerians Should Know After Uzodinma Made The Statement Above:
1. All houses that were destroyed will be rebuilt as promised by Governor Uzodinma. Governor Uzodinma said a committee will be set up to help in the rebuilding process of Izombe community.
2. All victims that their properties were destroyed in Izombe should note that Governor Uzodinma is ready to compensate them for their losses.
