Babachir Lawal Pleads Not Guilty As EFCC Re-arraigned Him For N544m Grass-cutting Fraud

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, EFCC has re-arraigned ex-SGF, Lawal for N544m grass-cutting fraud.

The defendants, again pleaded not guilty when the amended 10 counts of fraud were read to them before Justice Charles Agbaza of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Jabi, Abuja.

This is a great move by the EFCC and we hope they will pursue this case to the very end. This country must be sieved of the corrupt elements masquerading in a tinted vehicle and using proceeds from looted public funds.

It would be better if the present administration's anti-corruption policy will have effects on the likes of Babachir. How can you cut grass with N544m?

Some days ago, Sunday Dare said that they need N81 million to cut grass in Abuja stadium, can you imagine that? Sunday Dare reminds me of a Babachir Lawal.

Unfortunately, just like the latter was defended and his grass cutting skill justified then, the current Minister may scale through. He'd probably get the N81m.
