Nigeria is a great nation and blessed with many human and natural resources. We are in a very difficult period of our national history. Below are some reasons why we must pray for Nigeria.
1.Nigeria is passing through a trying and crucial period in its history as a nation: With the unrest going on in the east, west, north and south, we are passing through a seriously rocky period. Many great nations of the world have witnessed what we are witnessing right now. Crime is on the rise, the economy is nose-diving, ritual killings and banditry skyrocketing. We need to pray.
2. The Second Verse of Our National Anthem Shows We Need To Pray For Our Leaders: Our founding fathers already knew that this nation shall and must pass through trying times. Thus, they provided the strong words in the second verse of our national anthem.
Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
We cannot afford to keep quiet now, we must stand in the gap and pray for our leaders and also pray for peace to reign.
3. Lessons From Charles Spurgeon Who Prayed For Wales:
Charles Haddon Spurgeon was an english particular baptist preacher. Spurgeon remains highly influential among christians of various denominations, among whom he is known as the "Prince of Preachers".
Born on the 19th June 1834, Kelvedon, United Kingdom and died on the 31st of January 1892, Charles was a man who constantly prayed for Wales and crimes reduced to the lowest ebb in Wales.
4. God Bless America: This is a common slogan in the mouths of American presidents , the citizens and on their currency from all ages. This is the kind of statement that should fill our mouths this time around. We need to say it all the time. Join me to say "God bless Nigeria".
This is the time we must host our flag high and tell God to come to our rescue in this nation. With the unrest going on in the east, west, north and south, don't you think it's high time we prayed..?
Join me in praying for the peace of Nigeria; they shall do good that love it.
