Kaduna-Abuja Attack: What The Military Should Do To Tighten Up The Security On Highway

The menace of insecurity, banditry, and terrorism in the Northern part of Nigeria seems to be on the increase on daily basis. In as much as the Government and the Army are trying their best to curb and put a stop to this act, those involved are still finding means to operate.

According to a report by Channels Television, a group of armed bandits attacked scores of passengers on the Kaduna-Abuja highway of which several people were kidnapped. A video that was shared by Dailytrust also captured the moment where police were shooting into the air to scare the kidnappers from staging another attack.

Regarding this sad development, we have decided to share with you one thing that the military should do to tighten up the security on highways and further avert any reoccurrence of this sad phenomenon.

What The Military Should Do To Tighten Up The Security On Highway

One important thing that should be done by the Military to beef up the security on Nigeria highways, most especially in the North is for them to create checkpoints on different strategic areas within the ambiance of every highway.

Apart from the normal patrol squad on most highways, the military should try as much as possible to create stopping and checking points for passengers on these affected roads and with that effect, fear will be instilled in the mind of these bandits. With the fear of security personnel in them, their operation will surely be affected and they are likely to be caught and even convicted for their crimes.
