Igbo’s can’t afford another war — Uwazurike
Ralph Uwazurike, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Independent State of Biafra (MASSOB), has warned that the Igbo people cannot risk another war.
At a press conference in Owerri on Monday, Uwazurike, who also founded the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM), said this.
He also warned Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), against inciting Igbo youths against the country's security forces.
Soldiers kill eight bandits, recover weapons in Katsina
In a three-day operation that ended on Sunday, a joint police-military patrol raided some bandits' camps in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing no less than eight bandits.
During the operation, members of the operation also seized one Ak 49 rifle and burned nine bandit motorcycles, according to sources.
At a press conference on Monday, SP Gambo Isah, spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, confirmed the development in Katsina.
According to him, the joint police-military operation took place behind the villages of Guzurawa and Garin Gambo.
Gunmen kill 10, raze houses in fresh Kaduna attacks
In separate attacks, bandits attacked some communities in Kaduna State's Zango-Kataf and Chikun Local Government Areas, killing at least ten people and injuring others.
After the attacks on the citizens of Kurmin Gandu village in Zango-Kataf LG, houses were razed, bikes were stolen, and bags of ginger were carted away.
On Sunday night, the bandits attacked one of the villages, according to sources.
Mr Samuel Aruwan, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed the incidents in a statement released on Monday.
